Made From RI is a family business that is founded and operated by Jennifer and Keith Wahl (with two boys, a dog and a cat frequently participating). We are lifelong Rhode Islanders who have been involved in various businesses both making things or servicing the making of things in Rhode Island throughout our careers. In 2014, we decided to create a business surrounding the idea of items that are made entirely in the state of Rhode Island. 

We recruit Rhode Island makers (manufacturers, artists and artisans) and sell their products throughout the globe. We make things in house under the Made From RI brand (sometimes in partnership with other makers). We also produce photographs and have recently created our newest site, Made From RI Gallery, to create a better presentation and customer experience in this endeavor. 

As time went on, we each utilized some old skills. Jen grew up with a Mom who worked with fabric (having been a designer and seamstress for Looking Glass Theater among others). Keith started featuring Rhode Island photography based on what was taught by his grandfather (the one time foreman of art and photography at Providence Lithograph Company). We call this a lifetime of "education over the dinner table" along with the physical work of stocking items, quahogging, and lobstering. 

Both of us have worked in other industries. Jen having been in the Hospitality and Industrial Safety businesses. Keith has been a licensed ship Captain, Marine Surveyor, and Computer Engineer. Both of us have worked in some form since our teenage years and went on to earn graduate degrees and certifications in various disciplines (Physics, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, Photography). 

Our online business is centered in South Kingstown, Rhode Island (which is also where we reside). However, given the nature of Made From RI, we find ourselves physically in every geographic corner of Rhode Island day to day.

In addition to our Rhode Island based business activities, our children are also involved in such Rhode Island institutions as Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and Rhode Island Children's Chorus (along with baseball, scouts and assorted other activities). Jen is also a "century" level bicyclist and Keith is a kettlebell lifter.  As a family, we like to hike and explore Rhode Island in its many forms (museums, beaches, mansions, the maritime world) and studying this history rich state. We also maintain the "dinner table" education method for the next generation.
