There is a connection between Rhode Island and the first Taco Trucks. It may not be a straight-line relationship, but there is a relationship nonetheless. In Rhode Island, we have all heard the story of how Haven Brothers became the first food truck in the country. It's a Providence story that has been made in film: The Original Food Truck, Haven Brothers: Legacy of the American Diner (2014) - IMDb

The first taco truck in the U.S. was by Raul Martinez. He's a Mexican immigrant who converted an old ice cream truck into a mobile taco restaurant in 1974. He parked the truck outside an East Los Angeles bar. In a few months, he was so successful that he opened several restaurants.

So, the first food truck in the late 19th century begets a mid-20th century taco truck across the country. Which brings us back to present day Rhode Island.
