Ida Lewis was the United State's most heroic lighthouse keeper. A President told her so (Ulysses S. Grant). 

Born in Newport, Rhode Island on February 25, 1843, and keeping the lighthouse at Lime Rock for most of her life. She leaves a legacy that not just Rhode Islanders but the entire United States Coast Guard tries to love up to.
