What is a lobster? Well, being that we are from Rhode Island, we are speaking of the Atlantic lobster. "Homarus americanus" is the species name.

The Atlantic lobster is common and beloved in Rhode Island waters. I have been a lobsterman myself (in my teenage years). I ran a string of traps off of Narragansett Bay's Hope Island. Fished from our waters, lobsters are the subject of romantic dinners and family outings.
