Rhode Island has a couple of big things in its history. One is the Industrial Revolution... rumor has it that Samuel Slater started the whole thing in the United States in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The other is that Rhode Island has been known as the "Jewelry Capital of the World", starting with Nehemiah Dodge in 1794.
