Made From RI On The Birthday of the US Marine Corps (Video Enclosed)

Two Hundred and Forty Four years ago this date (writing from 2019) on November 10, 1775, the Second Continental Congress of the burgeoning nation known as the United States of America decreed, "That two battalions of Marines be raised consisting of one Colonel, two lieutenant-colonels, two majors and other officers, as usual in other regiments; that they consist of an equal number of privates as with other battalions, that particular care be taken that no persons be appointed to offices, or enlisted into said battalions, but such as are good seamen, or so acquainted with maritime affairs as to be able to serve for and during the present war with Great Britain and the Colonies; unless dismissed by Congress; that they be distinguished by the names of the First and Second Battalions of Marines."

While Philadelphia, PA claims the honor of being the birthplace of the Corps, as Rhode Islanders we understand the symbiotic link between the Navy (born of Rhode Island) and the US Marine Corps.

Semper Fidelis. Always Faithful. It kind of says it all.

We at Made From RI carry a US Marine Corps Logo Ornament good for display at any time of year that honors these faithful men and women. 100% handmade in Rhode Island from solid brass, finished in 24 karat gold, and screen printed with exquisite color. Click the photo link below to learn more.
