A few years ago, as we were starting Made From RI as a business, we were doing a "pop up" show in Narragansett. It was a gorgeous summer evening by the beach. People were out strolling after sumptuous meals at the local restaurants.

One couple stopped by our spot. They had a friend from Europe with them. We chatted for a bit and they explained that their friend had fallen in love with the area. There was a hesitance in the friend's returning home.

As we chatted, they discovered the displayed pens shining in the red, waning sunlight. The American host immediately bought two of the pens from the Revere Collection. One was immediately presented to the European friend. The thought expressed was, "Now it will be easier for us to write to one another". It was a significant moment. Putting hand-written thoughts on paper is intimate and thoughtful.
