United We Stand: An Ideal Expressed In An Ornament
Posted by Keith R Wahl, Made From RI on Jun 22nd 2021
The motto “United we stand, divided we fall,” is often shortened to “United We Stand”. It is an expression of the ideal of unity and collaboration. We use the phrase to encourage and inspire. The message is that there is strength in numbers, and many hands make light work. Doing things alone is harder and invites failure.
The first attribution of "United We Stand" is in the pre-Revolutionary War song, "The Liberty Song". The song was published in the Boston Gazette in July 1768 by Founding Father John Dickinson. “Then join hand in hand, brave Americans all! By uniting we stand, by dividing we fall!” as said in the song.
Symbolizing the power and support of the accomplishments of what can be done together. 100% handmade ornament at Made From RI: United We Stand Ornament - Made From RI (select the link to see more)
