A day that we think of (especially as this writer has some proud Merchant Marine associations) is National Maritime Day on May 22, 2021. The Merchant Marine and Merchant Mariners have been especially important during the recent COVID-19 issues. These people have assured that needed goods are imported and their officers are the masters of the Hospital Ships utilized under the Military Sealift Command.
