The Anchor Tile Trivet: Rugged and Necessary Hope

Turks Head Knot On Salvaged Anchor

From time immemorial, the anchor has been the symbol of the state of Rhode Island. The anchor, a rugged and necessary maritime tool, is always accompanied by the state motto, "Hope".

Why "Hope"? Because Hope is something as rugged and holds with the steadfastness of an anchor. The anchor that holds the ship against the storm.

I recently found the following on "Hope" and find it applicable here. "People speak of Hope as if it is this delicate ephemeral thing made of whispers and spider's webs. It's not. Hope has dirt on her face, blood on her knuckles, the grit of cobblestones in her hair, and just spat out a tooth as she rises for another go." (Attribution unknown)

Why bring the Anchor to your home display and your table? Because it symbolizes rugged and necessary Hope. Made From RI makes this powerful symbol available with the Rhode Island made Anchor Tile Trivet. The trivet is 8" square, made of marble tile, and has a full cork backing: Anchor Tile Trivet - Made From RI
